Bolivar (Soprano Saxophone) holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Montclair State University and two Masters of Music from The Peabody Institute of Music at Johns Hopkins University in both Saxophone Performance and Composition. Mr. Bolivar's primary focus in his composing is solo and chamber work, however he is also a very experienced arranger, having arranged a large portion of the Quartet's popular and holiday repertoire, as well as for several high school music programs in the New Jersey and New York areas. He pulls from his Peruvian roots to create and perform music with his own style and interpretation. Mr. Bolivar has studied composition with Michael Hersch and Dr. Robert Livingston Aldridge and saxophone with Dr. Paul Cohen, Dr. Jeremy Justeson, David Bixler and Gary Louie. A large portion of Mr. Bolivar's musical career involves free-lance work, as he is also a founding member of the AM/PM Saxophone Quartet, based out of Baltimore, MD. Mr. Bolivar is a music teacher in the Montville Township Public School system in Montville, NJ and is an avid supporter of promoting music education in New Jersey public schools. He resides in Elizabeth, NJ and, along with Robert Quinn, is a co-founder of the Garden State Saxophone Quartet.
